A spatial and visual exploration of Bayan Obo inside a game engine. This mine is the largest of rare earth mining sites and it is situated in occupied Mongolia. Technobros get rich AF with magical internet monies so they can drive their Teslas by the Bay, while a far-flung desert is rendered another sacrifice zone. A poisoned wasteland for millennia.

Reflections on the global proliferation of modern tower blocks as instruments of biopower, examining how their deployment, often justified by progressive ideals of hygiene, density management, and urban image, was shaped by state control, economic constraint, and ideological projection. Grounded in lived experiences within Singapore’s public housing system, the project considers how these high-density structures, while praised for promoting racial harmony and social stability, also operate as technologies of spatial regulation embedded in a tightly managed urban and social order.
The Search for Happiness (...in all the wrong places)
A machinima set in a rebuilt Westgate Mall, where the September 21–23 attack unfolds through twitter texts posted in real time. The space is reconstructed through ludoforming (the recreation of real spaces in virtual environments, or vice versa). It offers no judgment or political stance, aiming instead to reflect the raw simultaneity of voices in a mediated conflict.
Floating Gardens was an online gathering anchored in multiple physical nodes, offering a neutral space where users could explore a zero-gravity landscape and engage in real-time, anonymous conversations. Stereoscopic rendering enhanced the spatial experience, transforming the garden into a kind of space technology. A platform for encounter, exchange, and surface democratization. By situating its nodes in structurally contrasting sites in Mexico City, like Santa Martha penitentiary, the World Trade Center, and Museo de Arte Alameda, the project cultivated conditions for emergent communication shaped by context and difference.
A 3D video game probing the tension between growing global fluxes: material, linguistic, digital and nondigital, and the ever-dwindling spaces they occupy: mind, earth, bandwidth, and beyond. So this game explores available space through gameplay, visual, audio experience, and hardware load. Commissioned by rhizome.org.
